The Proform Power 1080 treadmill comes with a lot of nice features, but it does not deliver a satisfying workout experience. The Power 1080 has a 3.25 CHP motor but this is very overrated with respect to the motors true horsepower. Other manufactures like Smooth Fitness or Life Fitness tend to underrate their motors horsepower so that motors will never let a user down. Proform, and other Icon brand manufacturers, tend to underrate their horsepower rating. They can do this because horsepower is relative and will be vary depending on user weight and resistance. Chances are this rating of 3.25 applies to a very light user running at a level incline. With a heavier user that decides to use the incline feature, this motor may make just over 2.5HP. This can make for a frustrating workout experience.
For $2,499 the Proform Power 1080 treadmill does not deliver the level of quality expected for the price tag.
